Summary
The Mid-Atlantic Field Team intern must be based in Pittsburgh, PA. The intern would assist the Regional Coordinator with maintaining and improving SFLA groups in the region. The intern would assist in research projects, attending events on
campus or in the community, and maintaining communication with groups. The intern may
also be asked to assist with occasional administrative tasks such as sending out newsletters and
data-entry.

Essential Functions for the Field Team Intern
• Research Audit 1 and 2 schools and create a strategic plan with the RC
• Visit low audit or new schools to drop off materials and/or provide trainings
• Attend local mobilization opportunities as opportunities arise
• Attend local community events and table with resources collecting contacts
• Assist with newsletters/administrative tasks
• Provide trainings as needed to High School groups
• Data entry
• Fundraising activities
• Other duties as assigned

Competencies
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and online search
engines. Must be teachable to learn SFLA investor database. Candidates must be gritty, selfmotivated, a good problem solver, have an entrepreneurial spirit, expert multi-tasker,
maintain confidentiality, able to work independently, a solid communicator, and be a highlyorganized person. Candidates must have knowledge of grammar rules and utilize the oxford comma.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates out of the intern’s own home or personal office. Ideally, the one holding this
position would utilize his/her own laptop.

Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some traveling is required. The intern must be able to
drive and/or have access to transportation to get to trainings and mobilizations.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an action-based position working a maximum of 10 hours per week. Additional stipends
shall be provided for certain metrics such as closed groups, trainings, and visits, as approved by
the Regional Director. Hours are flexible, but it is encouraged to work as many as possible
during the team’s core hours 8AM-5PM. Workday flow/schedule should be reported to the
director manager of this position.

Travel
Attend trainings and mobilization events, as they arise and as it is possible within the allotted
hours.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma.
At least 1-2 years of experience with Students for Life.

Work Authorization
Must be able to successfully complete an I-9. The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and
employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.
