Objectives of the position: The Administrative Assistant of Development supports all projects and initiatives of the
development team and will provide support to the Development Coordinator. The Administrative Assistant will also
serve in volunteer recruitment, management, and training for the development office. This will ensure that the operations,
atmosphere, and rapport of the Development team follow Biblical standards.
Reports to: Development Coordinator
Work Location: Tacoma Administrative Office
Supervisory Role: Development volunteers as assigned.
FLSA Status and Job Classification: Part Time, Non-Exempt; 25 hours per week.
Data Classification: IV
Qualifications:
1. Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
2. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the biblical teachings of the sanctity of life, sanctity of marriage.
3. Agree with and be willing to uphold Care Net of Puget Sound’s organizational and ministerial statements and all
policies of the organization.
4. Ability to respect confidentiality.
5. Have experience in office operations and general management of running an office.
6. Have experience with general accounting procedures and basic computer operations. Proficiency in Microsoft
computer platform, Microsoft Office programming; particularly with Word and Excel is a must.
7. Possess skills that support attention to detail and the ability to manage an extensive database to produce a variety
of reports and communications.
8. Exhibit excellent administrative and organizational skills.
9. Is self-motivated, dependable, and responsible. Servant leader.
10. Sufficiently healed from past traumas in life.
*Staff who will have client contact and experienced a pregnancy termination must meet with the Healing Tide
Director and complete the program prior to meeting with clients. This information is kept confidential.
Essential Functions:
1. Development Team Responsibilities, Donor Relations and Computer Operations:
a. Works as a team member providing administrative support to the Development Coordinator, Director and
team as needed to accomplish development goals and strategic plans.
b. Assists in maintaining the Development Calendar.
c. Receives donor calls taking necessary steps to meet donor inquiries.
d. Assists Development Coordinator in overseeing the accuracy of the donor data base.
i. Proficient in accounts, journal entries, queries, and reports from the ministry development
software.
e. Receives receipts and new donor/new Life Steward information and steps through the communication
delivery (email or mail).
f. Assist with receiving incoming phone calls and communications through the administrative email
account.
g. Assist in duties as assigned by the Development Coordinator.
2. Capital Campaign-Steering Committee:
a. Will receive assignments from the Development Coordinator to step through action items as identified
through committee meetings and project needs.
b. Will attend meetings substituting for the Development Coordinator as assigned and fulfilling the
administrative responsibilities from those meetings.
c. Assists with maintaining and appropriate distribution of all campaign information, material, and
collateral.
d. Other duties as assigned by the Development Coordinator.
3. Special Events: Assists the Development Coordinator in all aspects of a special event stepping out details as
required by the project calendar and the event itself.
a. Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) and Baby Bottle Campaigns
i. Will connect with Churches, liaisons and primary contacts by phone, mail, electronic
communications to schedule Sanctity of Human Life presentations.
ii. Will assist with the scheduling of speakers and the SOHLS Presenter Training(s).
iii. Works with volunteers in the production, assembly, and distribution of SOHLS Packets (both
Speaker and Church packets)
iv. Will work with volunteers in preparing baby bottles for participating churches.
v. Will coordinate pick up of baby bottles at the completion of the campaign.
vi. Will work with volunteers in the processing of donations as bottles are returned to the Center.
The emptying, cleaning, and storage of baby bottles. Processing checks for deposit. Processing
currency, preparing coin bags for deposit. Will arrange for coin pick up.
vii. Other duties as assigned by the Development Coordinator.
b. Fundraising banquets and events, major donor events, “friends” of Care Net events, Home Dinners.
i. Assists the Development Coordinator with the event’s outreach based on the strategic plan and
goals set by Care Net of Puget Sound’s leadership, the Development Director, and the
Development Strategic Plan.
ii. Assists with internal administrative tasks regarding event details and team assignments.
iii. Assists with recruiting staff and volunteers to help with committees and day of event projects.
iv. Assists with coordinating the venue, caterer, AV support on behalf of the Development
Coordinator.
v. Attends each event to provide support and volunteer management necessary for a successful
event.
vi. Steps through assignments and projects as assigned by the Development Coordinator.
vii. Assists with receiving event donations, new sign ups and follow up communications to event
attendees.
viii. Manages inventory of banquet/golf event supplies in the storage locker.
ix. Other duties as assigned by the Development Coordinator.
c. Will assist the Development Coordinator with ministry open houses, pastor breakfasts, center tours and
similar events as assigned.
4. Volunteer Coordinator
a. Will receive names of interested volunteers for short term and long-term development events and
projects; initiates communications and maintains a contact list of interested volunteers for special events
and other development functions. Will train and manage schedules for volunteers who will assist with
internal development operations (data entry, etc.)
b. Will assist the Community Relations Director with primary church contacts, church liaisons as identified,
maintaining accurate information on the database (both the church and individual accounts) ensuring the
Marketing Team’s access to up-to-date mailing lists.
5. Meetings and Trainings
a. Will attend Mission Increase Foundation workshops and webinars as assigned to increase in donor
transformational principles.
b. Is a part of Care Net of Puget Sound’s staff and will attend all-staff meetings, retreats and functions.
c. Is a member of the Development team and will attend Development Meetings providing administrative
support as assigned by the Development Coordinator.
d. Is a member of the Administration Office and will attend weekly admin planning meetings with the
Executive Director.
6. Physical Requirements and Work Environment.
a. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to

i. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk, or hear and taste or
smell. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and

rarely required to kneel, crouch or crawl.
ii. The employee will regularly lift and or move items up to 10 lbs. The employee will sometimes
lift and move up to 25 lbs.
iii. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and
the ability to adjust focus.
b. The work environment described is representative of those an employee encounters while performing
essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with
disabilities to perform essential functions.
i. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; lighting is primarily florescent;
works in a shared office with the Development Coordinator.
ii. May experience times of adjustments to work schedule/increased work hours and high stress
during event seasons.
